PRACTICE NEWS
Pneumovax Are you 65 or over? The Dept of Health recommends that you have the pneumococcal vaccination which will protect you against pneumonia and other related infections. It can be given at any time of the year and most people only ever have one dose. Please make an appointment with the practice nurse. If you are coming in for a flu vaccination please ask for the pneumonia one at the same time.
Hospital Hoppa is a door to door bus service to the Royal Surrey for people in our area who have difficulty in getting to their appointments. Before you can use it you need to register with the service who will check your eligibility. You can ring on 01428 681701 to do this. We also have a limited number of forms and information leaflets at the Health Centre. There is a charge for using this service.
Acute Illness Clinics are now available at the Health Centre on Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays. They are run by Judith Perrett, who is a Nurse Practitioner. Judith can deal with problems such as rashes, conjunctivitis, eczema, sore throats, laryngitis, hay fever, ear infections, acute bad backs, headaches and abdominal pain.
Voice Connect is our automated telephone booking system. You can use the system to book your appointment automatically at any time, thereby avoiding the need to join the rush when the phones open at 8.30. The system uses your date of birth and phone number to uniquely identify you in the database and providing these agree an appointment can be made. If you usually ring the Fernhurst number (01428 651040) to make your appointments you can also take advantage of the new system by ringing one of the Haslemere numbers - 01483 783021, 783022, 783023 or 783024 and booking an appointment at Fernhurst.
Card Payments The Health Centre is able to take payments by credit and debit cards for the various private services we offer. We hope patients will find this helpful.
Stephanie Fisk is our Practice Manager. She is available to speak to any patients on 01483 783040.
